Björk has announced she will be releasing a string version of her eighth studio album Vulnicura next month, and today she has revealed its first preview, ‘Lionsong’.

This new version sees Björk using the only ‘Viola Organista’ instrument in the world to perform some of the song’s arrangements; a violin-like instrument which was originally designed by Leonardo Da Vinci, but not actually built until long after his death.

You really should check out the seven-minute original version as well, because it really is such a beautiful song.

Vulnicura Strings will be available on November 6 through Inertia.
