I don’t think I know anyone that doesn’t like the Bag Raiders. They’ve always been know for writing damn good electronic music, and this new EP of theirs is sure proof that they are still masters of what they do.

We caught up with Jack Glass (one-half of Bag Raiders) last week to ask where his love of music began.

The first CD I ever bought was Bryan Adams “Waking Up The Neighbours”. There’s nothing too cool about that, but I was feeling the vibe, hard. It’s a pretty iconic cover, black and white, he’s leaning back, yelling into a huge megaphone, guitar hanging from its strap (it’s a strat). The big hits, I think, were “Thought I’d Died and Gone to Heaven” and “(Everything I do) I do it for you”.

And even though I do love a good use of brackets in a song title (who doesn’t?) my favourite from the record was “Can’t Stop This Thing We’ve Started”. To be honest I can’t say the music stayed with me or influenced me in any meaningful way. I remember air drumming along to most of it and a few years later I took up the kit. But I’m not totally sure why I bought it at the time. One thing though, I’ve always had a slight aversion to shuffle tracks. Could it be a result of overplaying “Can’t Stop This Thing We’ve Started”? Definitely possible.

The new Waterfalls EP from Bag Raiders is available now from iTunes, and you can stream its three tracks below.
