Blowing me away in music today is Empress Of with track ‘Water Water’ taken from her upcoming debut record, it is a delicious dance track with an unexpected flavour.
We open on a squelchy synth and breathy vocal that could go any number of ways, but is soon joined by a rhythm that runs like clockwork through the first verse as we get familiar with Empress Of‘s almost poetic lyrics. Things pick up from there with some fun layers of beats and synth, making this track at home on the dancefloor.
Turning heads with her personal brand of dance music, Empress Of will be joining the likes of stage in the UK this May.
