Canberran tiro SAFIA have just this past weekend finished a busy 10-date national tour, which saw them killing it on stages all around the country, proving to Australia that they are without doubt, a force to be reckoned with.
We hit up vocalist Ben Woolner to ask how he got into making music, and where his love of it all began.
“The first CD I can remember ‘owning’ was ‘The Eminem Show.’ I remember stealing the album from my sisters album collection, and playing it nearly every day on her Walkman, which I also stole (yes, I was a very evil child), and now I think about it, it’s a very explicit album for a 9 or 10 year old kid to be listening to!
I loved how much emotion and energy was put into every word, and I guess that may be a reason why I can’t help but write emotional songs, melodies & lyrics today.”
Stepping back to 2002, this is Eminem with ‘Buisness’
An now here is SAFIA‘s stupidly infectious new single, ‘Paranoia, Ghosts & Other Sounds’
