My First CD - Eminem, Olympic Ayres

My First CD: Kam, Olympic Ayres

Just recently, Sydney duo Olympic Ayres revealed their latest single ’Take Flight,’ along with news of their first non-Episode EP, Leisureplex.

Kam from Olympic Ayres took some time out over the weekend to tell us what the first CD he ever bought was.

“Like many young lads I was caught up in the hysteria that was Eminem. Naively, I would rap all the lyrics in class and the teachers would pull me up asking if I knew what I was saying. The subject matter didn’t matter to me at the time because Eminem could do no wrong. Mum didn’t entirely agree with me listening to stories of drugs and violence, but did well to tolerate it – thanks Mum! Looking back it’s a classic album and Dre’s production still holds its own. If I had to single out a track it would be ‘Remember Me.’ Its use of Foley in this song is perfect. The lyrics are raw, untamed and full of profanity – perfect for my adolescent development.”

Here is Eminem with ‘Remember Me’

Followed by the brand new Alexander Leeway directed video for Olympic Ayres’ new single, ’Take Flight’

The forthcoming Leisureplex EP will feature remixes from Acaddamy and the very awesome James Curd. |
