Top 10 Albums of 2013: Hugh McClure

Words by Hugh McClure.

I’m always surprised when it comes to picking my favourite albums of the year. My main involvement in the music industry is writing about Australian music for San Francisco-based website Indie Shuffle, so automatically I assumed most of my favourite albums of the year would be local. I was also amazed that my list did not include more electronica, so huge has been the surge of productivity and quality in that genre (especially in Australia!). No matter how surprised I was, it’s been an amazing year for music – both here and abroad – and I’m so excited to see (and hear) what 2014 has in store.

Here are my Top 10 Albums of 2013 – special mention goes to Melbourne act Rat & Co, whose debut album has been a constant source of enjoyment this year – the ultimate vibe album!
