It’s been a year of surprising returns arriving mysteriously and with heavier pre-release security than the NSA (or cynically skilful PR manipulation, depending on your point of view), explosive debuts and fascinating, assured career progressions.
Whittling the year’s releases down to a sensible list of Top 10 Albums of 2013 is a little akin to translating Morrissey’s autobiography in to a single coherent haiku, but here goes….
These are the records I have enjoyed this year.
11. Lorde – Pure Heroine
12. Elvis Costello & The Roots – Wise Up Ghost & Other Songs
13. Hanni El Khatib – Head in the Dirt
14. Goldfrapp – Tales Of Us
