Sydney’s favourite non-for-profit organisation Major Raiser put together unique campaigns designed to engage younger people with fundraising. To date, they’ve raised thousands of dollars for organisations like The Music Outback Foundation and Australian Youth Against Cancer. As part of their campaigns, they’ve become renowned for their parties, which have included acts like RüFüS, New Navy, Parades and Bon Chat, Bon Rat.
In 2013, they’ve re-launched solely as a charity that funds school feeding programs in impoverished nations around the world. Their GIVVAFORK (get it?) campaign has seen them partner with a number of Sydney restaurants to raise money for the UN’s World Food Programme. These eateries will be stocking GIVVAFORKS throughout March, with all money going to the charity. $1 = four school meals provided to children in Laos – think about that as you settle your bill.
To celebrate the campaign, Major Raiser have put together their biggest gig yet. For just $15 (guess where the money’s going!?) you’ll get to check out an incredible line-up including Elizabeth Rose, Olympic Ayres, Polographia and special guests Van She.
As Major Raiser always say, come along and “Party with a purpose!”
