Danish post-rock trio Efterklang were in Australia earlier this year for Sydney’s Vivid Live Festival, where they played at the Sydney Opera House alongside the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
During the performance, ‘The Ghost’ - a brand new Efterklang track was premiered, which was reported to be from upcoming, fourth studio album Piramida.
Piramida‘s official trailer video has been released, documenting a nine-day audio expedition to Spitsbergen - an Arctic island located just shy of the North Pole. The haunting location is home to more polar bears than people but most importantly the ghost town of Piramida, a Russian settlement that was abandoned overnight in 1998, and currently stands as a slowly decaying ruin. It’s here that over 1,000 sound samples were obtained for the new album.
The track featured in the video is another new one from Efterklang, called ‘Dreams Today’.
