  1. barry says:

definitely british noise and industrial: whitehouse, trobbing gristle.

  2. Dave Carter says:

Obviously it’s hard to note just one amazing band. But tame impala obviously take the cake. Their edgy yet chill tunes know how to put you in the right frame of mind and get you having some hip shaking, knee bending fun. STATE = NSW

  3. acid stag says:

Agreed that Tame Impala are pretty awesome. However, they’re Western Australian – not from the Motherland (Britain). Soz Carter, no dice. Please try again.

  4. James says:

Obviously Dead, but Freddy Mercury and his unbelievably historic voice! Its haunting the way that man could get his voice so high and yet still make it sound like Rock N Roll. true genius!

  5. James says:

    NSW…. (sorry)

  6. Ardi says:

    Owl Eyes are fantastic! (NSW)

  7. Greg says:

Got to love The Who, but The Beatles are probably the all time best Brit band.

  8. Greg says:

    Der… NSW, forgot to add.

  9. Maxwell says:

Have to say that Cream is the biggest British sound. Clapton’s solos and psychedelia gave way to the likes of Tame Impala and are the reason he was called GOD in the first place. Around the time when the Beatles were covering American R’nB classics, Clapton and Jack were leading the 60s charge for the British Invasion with a wah pedal. Oh, and if you need any more convincing, listen to Ginger Baker’s drum solo on ‘Toad’ from 1966’s Fresh Cream!

  10. Tony says:

My favourite British sound is early 80s two tone. Not fussed about which act. A couple of years ago saw Ranking Roger of the Beat, Neville Staples from The Specials and Pauline from The Selector in a triple bill and it was awesome. Also had the privilege to see The Specials (minus Jerry D) at the Enmore.

I also love 80s Brit Dance music New Order, Heaven 17, Depeche Mode, OMD.

    Ian Curtis RIP
