TV on the Radio: Nine Types of Light

 Brooklyn indie-rock legends TV on the Radio have been extremely busy over the last three years, what with a bunch of collaborations as well as solo projects from Kyp Malone (Rain Machine) and Dave Sitek (Maximum Balloon).

Now, the team is back together and gearing up to release the much anticipated follow-up to their outstanding LP of 2008, Dear Science. This Autumn (Spring in the northern hemisphere) they deliver to us, Nine Types of Light.

‘Will Do’ is the first single from the LP:   

Which has been closely followed by ‘Caffeinated Consciousness’ which you can stream and download for FREE right here.

Nine Types of Light will be out on the April 12 via Interscope.

Architecture In Helsinki: Moment Bends [Album Stream]

Melbourne act Architecture in Helsinki return with their flavour of indie-pop with LP four titled Moment Bends.

In 2009, eccentric/innovative songstress and ukulele wielding Merrill Garbus, aka tUnE-yArDs gained a lot of attention from the release of her debut album, BiRd-BrAiNs. Just over a year later, she is to release her follow-up album titled, w h o k i l l.

Prefuse 73: The Only She Chapters [Album Stream]

Veteran avant-hip hop producer Guillermo Scott Herren a.k.a. Prefuse 73 will soon release his eighth studio LP, The Only She Chapters. The album follows on from 2009’s Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian. Album details are being kept under wraps but it is rumored to feature only female contributors – which makes sense given the album’s title.

JAMAICA: No Problem

French electro, retro-esque bros JAMAICA (formerly Poney Poney) released their debut album No Problem, digitally this week.

Watch them play in front of some homo bikers in the music video for ‘Short and Entertaining’:

About Group - Start & Complete

About Group: Start & Complete [New Music]

Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip has a folky alter-ego project called About Group, who are returning this April with their second full-length album, Start and Complete.

Taylor has been busy writing the songs over the last few years, but the album was recorded in just one day at Abbey Road Studios, followed by a brief three day mixing session.

First single from the album is ‘Don’t Worry’:

Planningtorock: W

Back in 2006, Berlin-based songstress/producer Janine Rostron released her debut album Have It All under the moniker Planningtorock. In 2010 she collaborated with The Knife and Mt. Sims on the Tomorrow, In a Year opera which was based on the Charles Darwin novel, On the Origin of Species.

This year, Planningtorock will be casting out her sophmore LP, simply titled W.

Radiohead- King of Limbs

The eighth full-length studio album from Radiohead was revealed today, titled Kings of Limbs. The release comes only three years after the band’s award winning album In Rainbows.

Radiohead will be releasing the album as the world’s first ‘Newspaper Album’ – where for an additional charge, customers receive:

• The Newspaper Album comes with a digital download
