Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi is gracing our shores this month to promote his debut solo album Go. Since the album’s release and the begining of his world tour, his live shows have been said to be drop-dead amazing. His aim was to “bring together the worlds of theatre and music in a new and hopefully unique way, in order to create something other than the hoary old cliches that pass for innovation in rock’n’roll,” which from all reports seems he has succeeded in doing. Jónsi had a little help from his sisters Inga and Lilja, in the development of the album’s cover (below) among many of the other conceptual ideas for the artworks and videoclips. You can take a look at some of the breath-taking videoclips at Jónsi’s Vimeo page.
He is playing 3 SOLD OUT performances in Australia this month:
Splendour in the Grass, Woodford – 1st August
Enmore Theatre, Sydney – 2nd August
Palace Theatre, Melbourne – 4th August
Here’s the first single Jónsi released from the album titled ‘Boy Lilikoi’:
Track titled ‘Animal Arithmetic’ also from the album:
